Network Classified Rates


OCNA's Network Classified Advertising program provides advertisers with a convenient, one step method to reach more than 4.4 million readers * in Ontario for approximately $2 per paper. Simply provide OCNA with your wording and we will place it in more than 180 community papers in Ontario or 600 newspapers across the country.

OCNA represents more than 320 papers in Ontario - of which more than 180 participate in the Network Classified Advertising program.

Conditions of Acceptance


The Ontario Community Newspapers Association will not accept the following types of classified advertisements as part of its Network Classified advertising program. In addition, participating member newspapers retain the right to reject any advertisement in the program which does not comply with their advertising standards.
  1. An advertisement which asks the reader to send money in advance for a product or service or for information regarding a product or service.
  2. Any business opportunity advertisement which, in the judgment of Association, is not a legitimate business opportunity or job offer (for example, work-at-home ads, employment directories etc.).
  3. Any advertisement for a product or service which is felt by the Association to be undesirable or offensive to readers of it member newspapers.
  4. Any advertisement which makes undocumented claims for the benefit of a product or service.
  5. Any advertisement for an unlawful product or service.
  6. Any advertisement which is discriminatory to any race, colour, creed, religion or sex.
  7. The Association reserves the right to ask for a sample of any product or service offered in order to ascertain the worth of the product or service.
 All Ontario and Ontario regional advertisements are published in plain-faced copy. Up to the first 30 characters will be printed in upper-case lettering. Excessive punctuation, as determined by the association, will not be accepted. Final word count will be determined by the association. We attempt to keep e-mail and Web site addresses on one line of type, but depending on length/formatting, we cannot guarantee this. The association will not be responsible for any errors in an advertisement if the said advertisement has not been received via online form, e-mail, or hard copy by mail/fax. If an ad is received in this format and a significant error is made by the association, that advertisement will be re-run upon the request of the advertiser. If a participating newspaper makes a significant error in the publishing of an advertisement, the said ad will be re-run in that newspaper, upon the request of the advertiser.
Discounts
Place 3 ads in Ontario or any Ontario Regions within 3 months and the 4th ad is free. Place 10 ads in each province outside of Ontario within a 6 month period and the 11th ad is free.    January 2008

  • Ads run on a weekly basis.
  • Ads booked 'All Ontario' are automatically available online thorough links on member newspaper websites, where available.
  • Ontario regional ads may opt to be included in the online feature for an additional $39 per insertion.
  • Ontario advertising deadline is 9:30 am Thursday for publication beginning the following Monday. Deadline for Cross Canada insertions is 9:00 am Tuesday for uniform publication the following week.
  • Prepayment is required.
