Canada Periodical Fund Q & A
April 1, 2010 is the official launch date of the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Canada Periodical Fund (CPF). On that date it will replace the Publications Assistance Program (PAP) and the Canada Magazine Fund.
For those publishers currently in the PAP who have questions about applying to the new program, the Canadian Community Newspapers Association has compiled a number of questions they asked CPF director Scott Shortliffe on its News on News website, along with his answers.
Covered on the website are the following questions:
- What is the application process for current PAP users, or past and new applicants?
- How long will applicants have to wait before learning whether their application has been approved?
- What are the CPF’s plans to ensure timely payment of publisher’s subsidies?
- How much should CPF users expect to receive?
- Is the use of the CPF subsidy limited to distribution costs?
- Who is eligible for the CPF’s business innovation funding, and what is the application process?
