ABC Forms New Canadian Digital Advisory Committee

CDAC Holds First Meeting Today in Toronto

TORONTO (Feb. 23, 2010) – The Audit Bureau of Circulations has formed a new Canadian Digital Advisory Committee to help it examine trends, business opportunities and ABC’s role in verifying and reporting interactive and emerging media such as Web sites, e-readers, mobile app purchases, hybrid audience measurement, ad-serving operations and more. The committee is holding its inaugural meeting today in Toronto.

“The media landscape in Canada is changing quickly and ABC is developing new services and reports to ensure we evolve with our members,” explained Joan Brehl, ABC Canada’s vice president/general manager, brand leadership and innovation. “The new Canadian Digital Advisory Committee will be a valuable resource for ABC members, directors and staff to pose questions and share ideas about how to best navigate this diversifying environment.”

Brehl continued, “I am delighted that Ted Boyd is available to chair this committee of talented and progressive leaders. I look forward to many dynamic and lively discussions about the future of digital media.”

Boyd, CEO and partner at 58Ninety Inc. and a member of the ABC Canada Board Committee, added, “It is imperative that interactive media buyers and sellers have a forum to discuss the future of digital media, the methods used to measure it and the best way to verify those metrics so that the process is transparent to all parties. ABC has created that forum with CDAC. We have assembled a knowledgeable and progressive group of digital executives from across ABC’s membership and I look forward to working with them and sharing their expertise with the ABC Canada Board Committee.”

In addition to Boyd, other committee members include:

  • Brent Bernie, president, comScore Media Metrix
  • David Carmichael, general manager, online operations, Rogers Business and Professional Publishing Group
