Poynter suggests ways to expand your vocabulary

Last week, Poynter Online’s Roy Peter Clark hosted a live chat with the intention of providing tips on how journalists can expand their vocabulary. Chat room participants were also encouraged to contribute their own ideas. Some of the suggestions include playing Scrabble and other word games regularly, keeping a dictionary and thesaurus by your desk, and creating a list of favourite words and interviewing others about theirs. The more ambitious can strive to learn another language such as French, Spanish or Latin.
