  • Local Journalism Initiative – Applications Due November 15
Home/Local Journalism Initiative – Applications Due November 15 Print This Page

News Media Canada recently launched the Local Journalism Initiative, a funding program created by the Government of Canada to help eligible Canadian media organizations produce much-needed civic journalism. It is an exciting opportunity for all journalists and media organizations across the country.

Media organizations who are experiencing challenges covering their communities, or who see communities that lack adequate coverage of civic institutions and organizations, are encouraged to apply to the program.

Information on the Local Journalism Initiative can be found here and the application process is here.

The application deadline is November 15, 2019.

Members are also invited to display digital ads online to promote the Local Journalism Initiative. English and French ads are in the ZIP file below and are available in big box and leaderboard sizes. Please link the English ad to www.localjournalisminitiative.ca and the French ad to www.initiativedejournalismelocal.ca.

Visit the LJI website for more information at www.nmc-mic.ca/lji/about-lji/.
